OPI Stranger Tides, Rustic Roses Nail Art

So Trade Secrets in Ontario was having a discontinued OPI two for one and I managed to snag two colours I've always wanted for nail art base but never got around to buying. My Boyfriend Scales Walls and Stranger Tides!

This is the first thing I had to do with my current love affair with florals. This is two coats of Stranger Tides stamped with Konad Special White. My stamping wasn't perfect, and I even redid some. I thought about canning the whole thing, but then carried on. Thinking it might add to the rustic feel I was going for. Next I free handed the roses with NYC Color Uptown and Sally Hansen Berry Juicy and the leaves with Essie Shake Your $$ Maker And Nicole by OPI Daffy Dill.

They are not perfect, but rustic and adorable and I love them! Guess perfect isn't always...perfect!

Neon Bow Nail Art

These are my 'mommies getting a break and heading for a spa weekend for her anniversary with daddy' nails! I thought that might be too long, so I went with neon bows nail art! This is OPI Alpine Snow. The rest are China Glaze, the dots are Orange Knockout and the bow is Pink Voltage and Liquid Leather. I used a dotting tool and a detail brush for the details. I even did matching toes!

And look at these super cute packages of flavored Kit Kat from over seas that my husbands coworker brought home for him! If I'm not too shy, perhaps I'll post some pictures from our get away. I leave this morning!!

Orly FX Milky Way, Floral Accent

Holy Bananas! This polish is the jam packed with glitter! I'm going to go out on a limb here and say most packed polish ever! I would also say use two coats of topper not one if you grab this one. I was rushing around and used a thinner topcoat. Go thick or go home ladies! For the blue roses I used a little bit of acrylic this time in gold, peacock and grey.

Look at this last one. Just look at the glitter in this puppy! Insane!

LeadLight Technique, First Try

So, this is my first real attempt at Leadlight technique or stamp 'glazing'. I think most of us have tried to fill in stamps with a detail brush before, but this is much better. Simply choose a pattern with fillable segments and stamp black on white as my first picture shows.

I then chose some jellies and shimmers from my stash that I knew to be very thin. Using a tiny dotting tool, you just dot on the colour into the negative spaces. I really enjoyed this and you should all try it out. One tip, keep giving yourself fresh drops of colour as it thickens quickly and you get those stringy bits.

The only thing I would change would be to fill in the background the next time in the same way. Also, my coral colour was a tiny bit more opaque than I would like. Maybe I'll invest in the sheer tints set soon! Oh, one more hint, I stamped one image on paper so I could swipe colours over to check their sheerness.

Above the Curve Nail Polish and the Jinxed nail design!

So me and the girls that won he tag a friend contest decided to do triplet manis for IG. We picked something that looked simple enough from an account my friend pinkylady24 on IG found. The account is linked here. So the three of us attempted this look, and each of us had nothing but trouble. We now call this the Jinxed nail art design, and I don't think we will be revisiting this one. If you want to see all three of our looks you can find the girls linked at pinkylady24 and Grneyegoddess7.

Now the Above the Curve Polish is Pretend It's a Plan ans it was lovely to use. Full reviews to come on the whole Dr. Who collection number two from Above the Curve. We just really wanted to dive in. All the colours used except the white are from our prize.

Thanks for stopping by!
