Born Pretty Store, Nail Plate Review BP-111

Today's look is another review from Born Pretty Store and the plate BP-111 is linked here.
The plate is a full plate of pattern images, and I chose this soft wave pattern in white. I used Revlon Blue Lagoon for my base and BP-73 for my reverse stamping flower.

This look was so pretty in person, and I can't wait to try the geometric patterns from the plate as well. If you decide to check out this plate or any others, use this 10% off discount code UNGX31 they are offering my readers!

Digital Dozen Does Rain Forest, Tiger Nail Art

Today's look is another fun twinsie look inspired by some stamping by @cedriscnails on Instaram with fellow Digital Dozen girl extraordinaire Sarah from +25 Sweetpeas. I created this fun rain forest setting with stamping leaves from BPL-026 and the tiger peaking out from BM-613. Sarah then recreated hers freehand. It was really cool to see it both ways! I'd like tot do it again sometime, with me the one challenged to freehand! My base polish for this was two coats of Gorgeous from Sinful Colors.

Doesn't he look hungry? Don't forget to follow some links below and see what's up for day four!

Digital Dozen Does Art, Day 2.

So as soon as I knew we were doing art week I planned this manicure. I used to study art for fun and one of my favourite artists was Kandinsky, as you can see by the book in my photo. I used a Moyou Artist Collection image for this stamping, which actually is a recreation of a Kandinsky painting. I used a bunch of Color Club neon polishes to create decals on my silicone mat, and the glitter topper is from Ruby White Tips.

This was definitely a fun one for me and I spent awhile just cruising through my art books beforehand as well. I should also try decals on my mat more, but I always get intimidated by the idea of applying them. All that work to then maybe wreck them.

Don't forget to see what masterpieces my girls have created today!

Digital Dozen Does Birthdays, August. Pop Art Nails

Today's look is another Digital Dozen does Birthday's look inspired by our August birthday girls. Myself and Tamara Rex of Canadian Nail Fanatic linked here are both August babies. My Birthday/blogiversary was yesterday and hers is tomorrow, so this is also my celebration mani! We chose to recreate a Pop Art look inspired by art available at Pop Art UK linked here.

I used so much polish and paint for this, I won't bore you with a list...but I will tell you I created my stamping with a great stamper I was sent for review.

For my stamping, (and more importantly my decal making) I used the new XL Clear Marshmallow Silicone Jelly Stamper with Cap Nail Art Stamper & Scraper from Born Pretty Store linked here.
The reason I say more importantly is because creating the decal on the raised and clear stamper instead of a mat made it way easier to see the details as well as any errors as I went along. Having it almost lit from below was immensely helpful to my freehand work. I really recommend this clear stamper. It does the job even better than my previous clear stamper!

If you are reading this, don't forget to follow the link below to wish Tamara a Happy Birthday!

Digital Dozen Does Negative Space, Day 4

Today's spin on negative space is a nautical one...and also a minimal one. I had these two really great colours I wanted to use for a nautical theme manicure, and an accent nail was the perfect way to get the negative space look onboard. The gold polish is Smaug's Gold from Ruby White Tips and the blue Blue Real also RWT. The anchor is from Moyou Sailor Collection 01.

I really don't do nautical enough in summer, and very much enjoyed these on.

Advanced Nail Stamping, Nail Decal

I've been wanting to work on decals again lately, so I got to work yesterday and came up with this layered look. I used BPL-026 for the base stamping on a base of a hot fuchsia from Color Club and the Cynthia Rowley is also unnamed.
Don't you hate when there is no name on polish? Sorry guys!

I created my decals right on the stampers this time and filled them and let them dry. Once dry I cut each Mandala in half and placed them on the gold based nails. I used an image from Moyou Doodles -01.

As an FYI, I discovered recently you can used Seche for decal creation, but must lift the decal and use between 8-10 minutes dry time or it will over dry. I had read a few times that quick dry won't work, so I've been testing since Seche is all I buy.

Below is the look before I added the decals. I really liked it this way, so I grabbed a picture in case I ran into decal trouble.

This is also what it looked like before matte coat. I really liked it this way as well.

Happy Thursday everyone. Hope everyone is having a great summer.

Stained Glass Daisies

Today's look is another stamping decal practice session I sat down for, actually reverse stamping. The base on this is Indie Polish Crash and the images are from BM-XL01 and BM-618 from Bundle Monster using Essie Penny Talk and Revlon Midnight Affair. I loved the stained glass look this ended up having and the depth once I matted it.

Thanks for stopping by, I'm currently working on an awesome freehand look since it's been a while and my first Instagram tutorial video...fingers crossed!

Purple Fab With Decal

More playing around today with my Clear Jelly Stamper from  Born Pretty Store. I used two coats of Pop Art Purple from Finger Paints for the base of this and it's still one of my favorite bright almost neon purples. I then used Essie Penny Talk  and Konad White to create a gradient stamped floral using Bundle Monster BM-S104. I then used China Glaze Mind The Gap and BM-616 to create this starburst decal for the upper corner of my middle finger.

Hope everyone is well! It's starting to feel a bit more spring like here in Canada, so I have lots more brights and pastels coming up. The presence of actual sunshine always makes me start to add more fun colours back into my wardrobe and makeup routine.

Born Pretty Store, Clear Jelly Stamper Review

The second the Born Pretty Store (linked here) Clear Jelly Stamper arrived for review I had to test it out! It's my first clear stamper and for their great prices, I needed to know if it worked! I tested out a filled Mandala image for this first test and have used it twice more for upcoming posts as well. I used Go Crazy Red from China Glaze for the stamping polish and filled with a grey from Essence. Once the fill colour was dry to the touch at about 15 minutes I used the clear barrel to line it up dead center on my thumb. First try, and it helped perfectly!

It has also worked great each time I've used it and required no priming. It's available at this link, and you'll get an additional 10% if you use code UNGX31!

Born Pretty, Stamper and Pallet Ring Review

I was recently sent some nail art goodies from Born Pretty Store linked here for review. In this post I have the Pallet Ring linked here and the Double Ended Marshmallow Stamper linked here. I decided to use my silicone mat to work on my decal making skills. For my colours I used Bam, Zip and Zap from Indie Polish. These great neons had th pop I was looking for in the stamping decal.

I used the ring for filling my decal stripes, and it really was easier having the polish close to your work instead of in a margarine lid farther away. because this is a ring, there is also no worry you will fumble and drop it.

Here are the decals all filled and drying on my mat before application.

I used Bundle Monster plate BM-... for my images here and wanted to show you how great the pick-up was on both ends of the stamper. The first image is the large head and the second is the small. The small was still big enough for a full nail image.

Here's the look! I'm very happy with this awesome neon stripe! Decal's are going to take some practice, but this one is fun and I didn't wreck any during the process either!

The Born Pretty Marshmallow stamper needed some buffing with a smooth sided nail block, but afterwards was amazing to work with. The ring was imensly helpful and I will be using this one for all future free hand looks for sure.

Digital Dozen Does Autumn, Stamping Skittles

Another thermal look for Digital Dozen Does Autumn you say? Heck yes me fair ladies! I have loved playing around with the thermals, so I just felt the need for one more. This one is inspired by all those amazing, double stamping, pattern mixing princesses out there. I've been drooling over a lot of those accounts lately and wanted to step up. For the base I used In-Carnation from Echoes Polish and then went ballistic with a mix of advanced stamping, double stamping and decals. Sounds like a lot, but this was much quicker then my complex freehand looks.

I'm really such a fan of thermals, especially in these warm tones. So you guys can expect more thermal looks for sure. Check out the rest of the girls and their final looks below.

Neon Mandala's

One of those posts that sits in your drafts until you look again and remember how awesome the look was! This one was a neon Mendal stamping decal I made. I used a mix of a bunch of colour club neons for the different layers in the Mendala and the same colours for the dots. I really liked this one...even after my stamp smeared. Grrrrrrr.

Even smeared, still not bad for one of my first few stamping decals.

Digital Dozen does Neon, The Secret Garden

So this is Day 1 for Neon Week for me and the girls of the Digital Dozen. For today I wanted to continue practicing my advanced stamping and decal making. I chose to do a floral, because it's OMD3 Book Day today as well. I've recently been reading the condensed adapted children's versions of classics to my kids. We've done Alice in Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz. The next classic is The Secret Garden, which I just loved when I was young or my son has his eye on 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. For anyone with kids, these books would be at your library and are adapted for children by a company Called Stepping Stone Classics. I'm not reviewing for them or anything, I'm just so thrilled I found these. Anywho, this mani uses KBShimmer PT Young Thing for that amazing holo, and My Indie Polish;
-Crash-Green
-Bam-Purple
-Pow-Pink
-Zap-Blue
as well as I dab here and there of a few older polishes from my stash. I used the advanced stamping technique for all but the holo finger. For the holo finger I created a decal on my stamper and then applied it to the finger when dry.

Loved this manicure. It was so layered looking in person!
