Born Pretty Almond Oil and Plate BP-144 Review

Today I have some new goodies from Born Pretty Store.
First up is seriously my new favorite cuticle oil! This oil is available at Born Pretty Store linked here.
This cuticle oil is Almond scented and I mean like amazing almond cookies or something! I once had a hand cream that smelled just like this, and was so sad when I couldn't get it anymore. I've used it for a couple days and find it very moisturizing, but once rubbed in matte enough for photos. I included a swatch photo of Gelaze Frostbite below where I've used it so you can see for yourself. This oil was available in a few yummy scents, but after smelling the almond I would highly recommend it.

For the look below I double stamped the sunflower-ish image from BP-144 over some white stripes. I was going for a late summer/ nautical feel. I loved this image, but chose this plate for review because of the stripes and cherry image on it. I still have to post that one as an advanced stamp look, but I couldn't resist stamping with the floral over my blue base. I tested this image and the cherry, and both were perfectly etched.
The plate BP-144 is available at the Born Pretty Store linked here.

If you want to try the oil out or the plate, use this 10% off discount code UNGX31 they are offering my readers!

Nail Wise Nail File Review

I was just sent these cute and fantastic new product for review called Finger Files. These are a brand new technology available from File Wise Nail File linked here, which is an Indie file producer. These files come in adorable girly patterns as seen below, but it's the shape and size that makes them special. The size makes them perfect for even the smallest purse or travel and it also creates less waste. I also think these would be great for nail techs to use for clients.

The finger dips shown below allow you to grasp these comfortably and securely while filing, and I found them much easier to use then standard length files. If your wondering if I would recommend these over glass for you glass fille addicts, I personally always use both. I use standard cardboard files for taking length and shaping sides and only use glass for finishing the edges to prevent roughness.

I would totally recommend these files and you guys can find them over at the File Wise website linked here. I've personally stocked my purse and car with these babies!

My Indie Polish, Rainy Afternoon Distressed Stamping

So what do we do when stamping doesn't show up right/mushes/and just generally disappoints over a gorgeous polish...(Rainy Afternoon from My Indie Polish) we distress it further and call it a thing! You guys have seen me do this before on purpose, but today's look was unplanned. My first image went smudged and the second had gaps. I decided to roll with it and used tape to distress the images further and then dotted in my black swirls in acrylic paint.

I fairly loved this. Especially worn with jeans. And even more so because it was matted. See. It's a thing!

January 10, Glitter Base

So, I got this Jindie Refresh To Death a while back, and really wanted something cute for its first use. I was stumped though, until I thought well hey...cartoon blueberries...cause you would wouldn't you! Anyway, swatch to come but as always a Jindie winner. This is two coats. Art is acrylic, and Bob's your uncle!

Macro all the art! Well, if you say so. Is it me, or was this one made for blueberry nail art?

Red Hot, Red Dot. My Go To Nails!

So yup...these are my go to nails! When I have an event I'd like to look put together for, I reach for my small size dotting tool and go to town over a great base colour. I think I may have posted a full mani of this combo before, but voila. I wore these on one of our many holiday visits. Easy Peasy and cute. Especially over red. If I'm honest my toes have this combo very often. This is two coats of my red Franken holo I pull out once in a while, and the dots are acrylic paint.

Difficulty: Easy peasy
Time: 5 minutes, for real!

Red hot, or what? Hope you like this and dive in when you need a quick and easy idea for your events. It really does get many compliments.

Different Dimension This is not Fir, Candy Cane Nail Art

These are for the prompt Red and Green, so I had to use this Different Dimensions This is not Fir. This is one coat over a matchy green coat of underpants! My canes were done in white and red acrylic, and I figured out that if you use a tiny dotter instead of a brush for the shape it's super easy to create these. Then a detail brush for the red and your done.

Difficulty: Easy
Time: 15 minutes

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Mrs. P's Nail Potions, Partridge In A Pear Tree Nail Art

I'm really thrilled with how these came together my lady friends! The prompt on this mani is the ever classic Twelve Days of Christmas, and I hope you can tell this is a Partridge in a Pear Tree. I chose to do these over Pea-cocky from Mrs. P's Nail Potions, and I'm glad I did. This polish really complimented the art. My pear, Partridge and branches were all done in acrylics and sealed with Seche.

I don't think I've ever been so sad to remove a mani. Hope everyone is enjoying the challenge as much as I am.

Mrs. P's Nail Potions, Pea-cocky Swatch

Purchased by me.

This my lovies is Pea-cocky from Mrs. P's Nail Potions. This is a rockin thermal in both temperatures, both teal and a kind of luscious platinum. This is two coats, but I think next time I'd use a third for truer opacity. The formula was incredibly amazing for a densely packed glitter polish too.

My hands were so cold this morning, I literally took my hands straight out of a hot water cup for this second shot. I plan on re-swatching for transition soon, cause later in the day when I was warmer...WOW!

Hope you likey, and head over to Bree's shop linked here and take a boo at what else she has. I'm really loving this brand.

Pipe Dream Polish, Empyrean, Snowman Nail Art

This lil doozie is a design inspired by Deanne29 on Instagram. I love her page, and have tons of her stuff in my inspiration folder. For this look I used Empyrean Pipe Dream Polish on my snowflake fingers. This was two easy coats with Bundle Monster snowflakes stamped on top with Konad a White
My Snowmen were created on two coats of Sinful Colors Paper Mache with mostly acrylic paints, but I also used Essie Penny Talk to accent the scarf.

Aren't these lil men just so happy and smiley?

KBShimmer Sugar Plum Faerie, Christmas Tree Nail Art

Hello all my baby cakes! Today another Christmas look. This one hits a dark green prompt, as well as Christmas Trees. This is two coats of Sugar Plum Faerie from KBShimmer, and my trees are inspired by the awesomesauseness @deanne29 on Instagram. The accent finger base is Twiggie from Color Club, and the art is all acrylic and created with a dotter and detail brush.

Hope everyone is getting into the holiday spirit, and if not...you go right ahead and get your Grinch on. We all have those years too.

One Last Fall Mani

This look was created over my recent swatch of The Naked Dress from Mrs. P's Nail Potions. I used red, orange, black, gold and green acrylics for the leaves over two coats of The Naked Dress. I really wanted to do one last fall look, as winter has really come early this year in Canada. This look is a recreation of one of my own from the beginning of fall linked here.

Here is the swatch collage from my previous post.

Mrs. P's Nail Potions, The Naked Dress

This is a beauty I ordered recently, and it arrived yesterday! I just couldn't wait to swatch it for you guys. This is my first from Mrs. P's Nail Potions, but it won't be my last. The formula on this is straight up 'butter'. This is two coats, and as it's called The Naked Dress I decided to leave the VNL. I will re-swatch this one soon with undies...but it had to be naked this time around! Just a side note, but Mrs. P even includes a little note about how to care for nail mail in colder climates...and tootsie rolls. Cute right!

Just lookie at the gold hexes shining away. This is so sparkly in person, and would be great over the holidays.

Hope you guys love this as much as I do. I have one more potion from my order I'll be showing you soon. Anyone notice a sneak peek of the art I put on this beauty in the collage? That will be up soon as well. Mrs. P's Nail Potions are available on her site linked here and on ETSY.

Grimm Brothers Nail Art, Red Riding Hood 2

So friends, I had promised more Grimm looks, and here we go. Yes it's a second Riding Hood look, but I couldn't help myself. @Clairelofthouse on Instagram did this look last week and inspired me to totally copy her! I switched up her look a bit using two coats of Different Dimensions That's Not Fir and used a fir tree instead of an apple tree, but you really need to see her look. My details were all created with acrylic paints today.

Difficulty: Medium
Time: 22 minutes

Hope you like this second Riding hood look, I can't wait to choose another Grimm Brothers tale to do.

Cheers all,
