Digital Dozen Does Art, Day 2.

So as soon as I knew we were doing art week I planned this manicure. I used to study art for fun and one of my favourite artists was Kandinsky, as you can see by the book in my photo. I used a Moyou Artist Collection image for this stamping, which actually is a recreation of a Kandinsky painting. I used a bunch of Color Club neon polishes to create decals on my silicone mat, and the glitter topper is from Ruby White Tips.

This was definitely a fun one for me and I spent awhile just cruising through my art books beforehand as well. I should also try decals on my mat more, but I always get intimidated by the idea of applying them. All that work to then maybe wreck them.

Don't forget to see what masterpieces my girls have created today!

Digital Dozen Does Whimzy Week, Day 3 Tropical Floral Mix and Match

Okay, I've gotten sidetracked by life this week and fallen off on yesterday's post so here it is! I'll have day four up shortly as well, and my fave is day five tomorrow. The tropical floral design for this was a quick and easy one created with all acrylic paints. I found the dots and flower mix whimsical in keeping with today's theme, but this glitter polish was what inspired this look. I find the mix on this one so unique, it just screamed whimsy.

I found this look totally off beat and fun, full of design elements and colours I might not ordinarily mix! Perfect for Digital Dozen Whimsy Week. Check out my girls below, and I'll check back soon.

Digital Dozen Food Week, Sad Little Oranges!

So, le sigh...why are the oranges sad for today's food mani for Digital Dozen? Well as you can see I lost all my length right after I did my almonds yesterday. I do have a long goodie saved for Friday, but this is what the rest of my week will look like. Oh, well. Short can still be cute. Anywho, the polish is two coats of Zip from My Indie Polish and I had the cool idea to use a neon green glitter topper as 'seeds' under my Bundle Monster orange stamping.

I love how the seeds pop under the stamping. All in all fun, if still a little sad.

#clairestelle8june, Flamingo Nails

So a cutie I know on IG posts a monthly challenge. You'd know her as @clairesttelle8 linked here, and the hashtag for this month's prompts is #clairestelle8june if you want to join in. Today's prompt was flamingos, and I've never tried the big pink guys. For this look I used Sally Hansen White out as base except for the yellow which is Lexington Yellow from NYC. The matte glitter polish is Amanda from Ruby White Tips...and yes it's named after me teehee for those of you that don't know. My freehand details are all acrylics except for my pinkie which is recycled from an upcoming stamping mani.

Squawk squawkity squawk! So says my bossy pink friend! Almost forgot...distracted by all the squawking...the whole thing is matte as well!

Essie Full Steam Ahead and Nail Stamping

This lovely whimsical design is the kind I could personally wear daily. If I weren't a blogger trying new things all the time I would wear all things girls and pretty all the time. The base for this one is two coats of Full Steam Ahead from Essie topped with Pure Ice Heartbreaker and stamped with Nabi Sky in a scrollwork design. I matted the whole thing and love the green shimmers through below my stamping.

Just whispy and beautiful...and auto correct just corrected that to whisky! Apparently Blogger is a drunk! Ha!

Digital Dozen, Childhood, My Pet Monster

Welcome back to day two of Childhood week aka Indies and Eighties! This glitter topper is Polish My Life Times Square Lights over a base of Rimmel Sunny Days. I was going for a kind of glitter as garbage thing here, because if anyone remembers this guy here from My Pet Monster, "he loved to munch on garbage...he'd even eat the can. If this sounds gross please understand..." He was my favourite after school special! I created the fish bones and My Pet Monster with acrylic paints. Don't you just love this glitter topper. It was so perfect for this, I'm glad I chose it.

I topped the whole thing with Seche, which I'm now out of. I decided to try Out the Door next which is fine for art like this, but for stamping it's so streaking! Now I need some Seche ASAP. Clearly on Top from KBShimmer and Seche are the only topcoats I've found so far good for everything. What do you guys like?

Indie Polish, 38

Here is 38 from Indie Polish linked here. This fun and fabulous glitter topper is a mix of multi-shape and size yellow, white and hot pink glitters. It's simply ridiculously cute on.

I'm really glad I did swatches on both a light and dark background for this one. It really transformed the polish.

January 30, Never Tried

So guys, I've wanted to do this...craftivity...for a while, hence the never tried prompt. I even prepped these stamping decals ages ago, which might have been the problem. First thing, this is a neon acrylic gradient over white topped with Rainbow Honey Magic Cake. Now on to the fun troubles! I took my kinda stiff old nail decals and trimmed them into these cute little squares. I top coated with slow drying top coat so I'd have time to manoeuvre them and then Seche. Now I'm posting these anyway because they still look awesome and have a lot of potential, but these would be a fail for me because those cute little squares just wouldn't sit down!

Funny enough, these are exactly how I pictured them other then the sticking up. Maybe I should just call it a 3D design!

December 15, Throwback, Holiday Decorations Nail Art

This is for the prompts Glitter Topper and Decorations. I recreated last years Decoration prompt mani and really like it still. The base is Don't Make a Scene from Finger Paints, and the details all acrylic. This is a rendition of those spinning fan decorations that use the heat from a candle. I grew up with one, but you can also see one in a scene from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

Difficulty: Easy
Time: 15 Minutes

So here is my original design linked here.
I'm pretty attached to the origional, and may even like it better. What do you think?

Snow Nail Art

What's up Holiday Art lovers? This is a look for the prompt Ice Blue and White for today. I wanted a muted snowy landscape with those pastel trees. After that I winged the rest. My sons have this Thumpers First Snowfall book, and the art was inspired by that. The holly plant and Cardinal are much cuter in the book, but I just had to try. All my details are acrylic over Paper Mâché from Finger Paints. I also Topped with an LA Colors Glitter for the falling snow look.

Hope you likey! Please check out what the other girls are up to below.

Heart Stamping on Indie Dreams!

This my friends is my dream nails...yup, dream nails. Wicked Polish Fairy Blood Splatter (biggest lemming ever on loaner) topped with gorgeous girly heart stamping from BM-H18 all on a thermal base of Dance Legend 178. You know I love me some thermal, and the depth and levels of this look had my squeeing for days. The base colour took 3 coats, but was worth it. The glitter just one.

If your girlie like me, scroll back up for just one more look!

Pine Nails

So I'll admit I have been taking a bit of a break from freehand looks. I did so many during the Halloween season, that I've been wanting to work on stamping. I feel like my stamping has gotten back to where it used to be, so I came up wth the idea to winterized one of the popular summer looks I posted a few months ago. For this look I used two coats of Finger Paints Paper Mâché and Silkscreen Green. Ruby White Tips Concerning Hobbits is the gorgeous coppery gold polish I used for all my dotting and gradient. The pine needles and cones were created with acrylic paint.

I hope you guys like this look. It popped into my mind last night when  as trying to fall asleep.

Cheers all,
