China Glaze Review, Pastel and Shades Of Nude. Spring 2017.

I was contacted by Nail Polish Canada recently and sent three great shades of China Glaze polish from the Spring 2017 line ups, Shades Of Nude Collection and Pastels Collection.
You can see all the shades from Shades Of Nude here, and Pastels here. My selections for review below were all creamy and delish and basically one coaters.

Casual Friday is a soft buttermilk yellow, and a lot less intense than photos I found online. I find my photo fairly accurately represents the softer pastel of this yellow. This is two coats, but took a bit more finess than the other two polishes due to a hint of streaking. Due to the soft and less intense nature of this yellow, it would work with almost any skin tone.

Bourgeois Beige was an easy formula that could be a one coater with easy application, however this is two for reiew purposes. This creamy beige hosts a hint of pinky warmth, but is the type of nude that works well on all skin types. This nude easily just stole top spot in my stash for nudes!

A Waltz In The Park is a soft lilac hue that leans more blue than link or purple. Finish wise, this was the best of the three for formula! Thick enough for a single coat with great coverage and no dragging. This colour was gorgeous on and I like it so much I created a quick acrylic floral look below and wore it to dust!

All in all the products I sampled from the China Glaze Spring 2017 releases were all very strong in formula and great colours I'd recomend to anyone. The yellow was a surprise favorite as a great yellow that also performs well during application is hard to find. I would say these are all need to haves for pastel and China Glaze junkies alike!

Once again you can find the full Chine Glaze line up linked here at Nail Polish Canada.

Digital Dozen Does Rainforests, Floral Nail Art

This week brings us another Digital Dozen week, and we're celebrating rain forests! I was actually so full of ideas for this week it was hard to decide! There are so many cool plants and animals in the rain forest. My family and I have been watching the BBC Earth 2 series in the evenings. I totally recommend it. My kids are at the age where they will watch something like this with us and are fascinated with the animals. If you haven't heard of it, click the link. There have been a ton of rain forest references in the series, so some of my ideas for this week come straight from the show.

Today's look is a freehand tropical floral on Dance Baby from China Glaze. I really wanted to start the week with tropical feeling flowers as the rest of my designs focus on amazing animals. My ferns and flowers were created with a selection of bright and neon acrylic paints, followed by a matte topper.

I love all the crazy rain forest plants from the series, even glow in the dark mushrooms I considered doing! Don't forget to go through the Inlinkz below to see what the other DD members cooked up for day 1.

31 Day. Day 27, Inspired by Artwork

I decided to go with my favourite type of art fort the Artwork prompt for #31dc2016. I wasn't going to do nail art, but became inspired by Starrynail and Glitterfingersss on Instagram when both posted gorgeous fall manis at the same time a couple days ago. For mine I stamped the falling leaves words from BM-S207 and then began my doodles, acorns and leaves in acrylic paint. My base is China Glaze mind the gap.

I like my fun abstract fall look. The idea for the doodles actually came from a craft on Pinterest where you doodle designs in white paint on a wreath made of leaves.

Born Pretty Stamping Plates

So this look turned out about as summery as you can get. I used China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy Gel Polish in two coats and then stamped the feathers from BM-75 sent to me recently from Bundle Monster available linked here. I then sealed the whole thing with Gellish Topcoat.

Bundle Monster nail stamping plates are available linked here. If you do check them out, use this 10% off discount code UNGX31 they are offering my readers!

Whatever Nail Art, Born Pretty Nail Stamping

I just received a number of fabulous large size rectangular stamping plates from Born Pretty Store and had to dive right in for a review. The first plate I reached for was BP-L021 available at the Born Pretty Store linked here. This plate is edgy and has a punk feel, so I paired it with China Glaze Liquid Leather and stamped with Konad White. I loved how punky this turned out and how well the images stamped. The wavy image smeared a little when I was slightly heavy handed with my matte coat, but otherwise this was an exceptionally fun mani to wear.

I could see myself reusing all of these images as well as the rest of the plate. You should check out this plate BP-L021 and their others at the Born Pretty Store linked here. I was really impressed with the quality. If you do, use this 10% off discount code UNGX31 they are offering my readers!

I have a few more plates to spotlight for you coming up as well as the prettiest super fine detail brush you've ever seen!

Digital Dozen Does Whimsy, Day 4 Gel Polish Nail Art

This look is actually my least favourite of the week. This is an all gel polish creation except for the stamping. I was going for a Harley Quinn mix and match, but I'm not sure I achieved it and it kind of looked like a 'forced' mix in person. Of course as it was gel, I was also forced to wear it over a week!

Ces't la vie! That's life! Tomorrows look is pretty terrific, so...moving on!

Blue Nails, R2D2 Nails

This one qualifies for #clairesttelle8mar Blue prompt day, which is today. The base on this weirdly wonderful look is Frostbite from China Glaze. I stamped with some geometric designs from Bundle Monster and then dotted in some teal and black dots wherever I felt it needed it. Then matte and that is that! I was going for random and geometric and ended up with R2D2...kinda!

Crazy things happen when you sit down with no plans!

Digital Dozen Does Autumn, Leaves and Plaid!

Advanced stamping from Bundle Monster and some plaid today for day two of Digital Dozen Autumn Week. My base on this is Different Dimensions Copper Bottomed and the cream centre fingers are Orly Frosting. For the stamping I used Konad Black and China Glaze Go Crazy Red. I love how the double stamped plaid came out. I can't wait to try this out in some pastels. The leaf fingers are filled on the stamper and advanced stamped with corresponding colours.

I hope you liked this very fall look. I'm pretty happy with how it came together and now that I've figured out the plaid look without a plaid stamp, I can try it again and again!

Mono-Mazing!

Black and White is so simple I know, but I'm always drawn to the look of monochromatic patterns and the startling contrast of black and white clothing and other items. for this easy to accomplish stamping look I used China Glaze White On as base and Konad Black for the stamping. I love how crisp and perfect I'm able to get my images now that I've got my Creative Stamper.

I thought about leadlighting this look half-way through wearing it, but couldn't bring myself to do it.

OMD3 Day 28, Princess. Black and White French

This girlie OMD3 Princess prompt inspired look was created using an image from plate VL-019 from Vivid Lacquer. Underneath was a simple China Glaze White on White and clear polish gradient.the stamping was Konad Black. I created this look to wear to my cousins wedding, and what could be more Princess-y than a wedding!

I'm not really a French mani kinda girl, but these I rocked for almost a week!

Digital Dozen Does Neon, Summer Flip Flops

Today's neon-spiration came from a cute pair of children's flip flops on Etsy linked here. Today's Shoe day for OMD3 and Day 5 for Neon Week for the Digital Dozen. Neon Shoes is pretty specific, and it's also why I love when challenges line up. The suggestions you end up with can be awesome. It didn't work out for every DD day, but today's double prompt might be my fave DD for this week! I used Celtic Sun from China Glaze...yet another neon green, and stamped this leafy Bundle Monster image. I topped it in Seche so I could see how cool and abstract this turned out alone before I freehanded on the random flowers. I then matted, and it was so good matte!

Hope you guys had a great week out in the real world! Check out my girls Day 5 creations below!

Moyou Pro 15, Tone on Tone Stamping

A cute tone on tone stamping look I did recently using Moyou Pro Plate 15. This is a brick red Essie that I don't have a name for over China Glaze Dance Baby. I really love wearing tone on tone stamping and it's so quick to accomplish.

I'm heading to one of those Paint Night events tonight, and might even take some pictures for you guys. Fingers crossed I can still paint on a canvas about a thousand time bigger than my fingers!

#naillinkup and Challenge Your Nailart, Easter Nails

Hey all, and Happy Easter. This is a quick look I created for Easter visiting. I love the look af muted nudes, and I've been doing a test of which polishes in my stash stamp well. The base on this one is China Glaze Diva Bride and I then stamped with a really great maroon unnamed Essie I have.

The great egg and carrot image is from my Bundle Monster Holiday collection. I'm still glad I bought these plates when they came out a few years ago. Such a good go to at any holiday. Have you guys tested out your stash for stamping polish? I recommend it. I've found some great ones I wouldn't expect would stamp. I'm writing the names and a stamped sample in a journal.

3 Shades of Purple Dotting

This is for the Crumpets 3 shades of purple and dotting prompt! My base is my new favourite purple, Essence Dark Night Starlight in two coats. I then mixed up two complimentary shade and dotted in a random pattern. Afterward... Fairy Dust of course. Some manis just need a little magic!

Hope you guys like this quick look. I've been prepping to get myself a little ahead for the upcoming January challenge...because I'm insane! I think I have a problem resisting challenges.

Halloween Nail Art, Spider Nail Design

I had a lot of fun with this! The spider look I saw on Pink Flying Cow's Youtube channel linked here. The web's I learned from Robin Moses. I used China Glaze Orange Knockout and the purple awesome sauce glitter is... All in all, this one was pretty easy to create. I used acrylic's for the detail.

Difficulty: Medium
Time: 24 minutes, a bit longer than I would have thought. Maybe I had the coffee shakes today!

Let me know what you think, and any last minute Halloween looks I should tackle before the big night. I still need to decide what to wear on the day!

Blue and Pink, Nail Stamping

This fab blue shimmery polish was a bogo I grabbed over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend at Sally called China Glaze Frostbite. It's frosty lusciousness if I do say so, and I don't always love frost finishes! I thought it's the perfect blue going into winter. Afterwards I used Konad white to stamp the scattered fishnet look, and used pink and black acrylics for the pink flowers.

I created this look to compliment this new fuzzy pink sweater I just got from H&M. It's soft loose and off the shoulder...perfect over tights, and cute with these adorable nails!

Cheers all,
