Digital Dozen Does Art Day 1

To start off Digital Dozen Art week I've created this cute freehand mix and match look. I wanted to do a floral and found this great painting online. Unfortunately I couldn't find any information for the artist. I created my version in a red, black and grey pallet. My floral and dots are all acrylic paints and  that great red micro is L.A Colors Electrified.

I definitely struggled with some of the fine lines on this one. I think more floral practice is in order! Don't forget to check out my Digital Dozen lovelies below!

Halloween Nail Art, Spooky Forest

It's that time again...(insert evil laugh here) Halloween is fast approaching! I wasn't going to jump on the Halloween bus till October 1, but then I saw this design on Instagram by b_sadlernailedit and it was so cute-spooky and looked easy enough and well I just had to do it myself! For the background I simply used a makeupe sponge to do the textured splodges on one coat of Liquid Leather from China Glaze. I then took black acrylic and added the trees. Once dry I used white acrylics and a dotting tool to add the eyes. This looks a lot more difficult than it was and anyone could try this one out.

Happy Halloween season all! Just let me know in the comments below if there is a certain Halloween design you want me to try this year!

September Challenge Violet and Nail Stamping

I've been in Jamaica on vacation for a week, and thought it might be a way to catch up instead of skipping prompts this year to just combine prompts till I catch up. So this mani is Violet...and Black and White! I stamped an interesting and fine line design with Konad black over Finger Paints Paper Mache. I then used a violet and white acrylic to add ribbons sporadically over the stamped design.

There you have it! I have to say I LOVE this final look.

Mickey Nail Art, Swap

This design was inspired by Teoqeg on Instagram. Her design was so cute I had to try this one myself. This is Alpine Snow in two coats topped by this amazing glass shard topper from Ruby White Tips called Gathering of the Clouds from the Hobbit Collection. Her Etsy store is linked here.

For Mickey and Minnie and their cute little kissing faces I tried out the decal method on a plastic bag and used acrylic paints. This worked out so well, I can't wait to try it again.

Hope you enjoyed this one! Just looking at the length on my nails makes me a little sad now.

Pink Flying Cow Design Nail Art

Welcome to another edition of Freehand Fridays with Ashley aka BWLBlogger.
We cooked this one up because we are both big fans of Pinkflying cow on YouTube linked here. If you haven't checked out her channel you really should. Most of her stuff has this pop art comic feel. It's happy, fun and I love it. Ashley's IG page is linked here. Pinkflyingcow look had this fun ring finger gradient with the skull cherries. It's about the darn cutest thing I ever did see. I then did the stripey half moons and added a little glitter to hide any flaws. All in all adorable.

And here is both or looks together!

I really liked the above, but the half moons weren't my best stripes ever, so I removed them and went to work. I next did the shooting star finger which is another of Pinkflying cows designs from her channel. For the remaining two fingers I went dotting wild in a pop art style. I used a ton of colours for this look, but if you want any specifics just leave me a note in the comments.

I have to say, this is my fave design of the last little bit. How could it not be right! So happy and summery. I just love it.

Manicure Remix, Neon Floral

So I'm Calling this post Manicure Remix, and I think I've decided this will be a recurring series. Whenever I have a post that's very popular and I loved wearing, I will remix the look by using the same colours and element's, but create a totally different look.

So for my first remix I chose my Neon fun look....linked here and I reused‎ my colour palette. I took the floral and dot elements and put them together on the nails and created a black and white version of the design as my accent nail. After top coating my accent I also added the pearl as this week's Eeek prompt is Pearl. I'm loving the look together and I think it qualifies! If you want to join in the fun for the remaining week, you can find the info linked here.

Love this again, and hope you guys do as well. Also, don't forget to look at the other Pearl Manicures in the Inlinkz below.

Zebra Nail Art, Swap

Are you sick of Mani Swaps yet...because I'm not! This one is with Instagram's Lacqueredmama linked here.

For the design I used;
China Glaze Liquid Leather
Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On
Acrylic White

So here is what happened...I started with White On for the stripes, but the polish was looking lumpy. I think my White is getting thick. Anyway I switched to acrylic paint for two of the fingers and it was just as crisp and opaque. I didn't think it would be, so a happy accident. For my bows I used sliced fimo bows that I've been waiting to use. Lacqueredmama used polish and coloured studs in her design.

Here is the manis we chose. Lacqueredmama chose my old jammie monsters, and did an awesome job with them. I love them matte!

What do you guys think of the swaps so far?
Thanks for stopping by!

Galaxy Pie Swap

This is a swap I did with +Beltane Secret on IG, her account is linked here.
She also chose to do the ever popular neon and polka dots first inspired by @allnailseverything.

These were simple and kind of edgy. I wish I'd taped the triangle lines, but I was trying to force myself t practice my freehand straight lines. Instead of crisp these are only alright, but I really liked the look...at arms length! This is two coats of My Boyfriend Scales Walls. The Black is China Glaze Liquid Leather. The details are a mix of silver and blue glitters and polishes. I used a tiny dotting tool and detail brush for the details.

In case your wondering about the upside down position, its the one Beltane used and I thought Id give it a whirl too. As a side note, I've been having a ton of fun with all these swaps. If anyone reading this would like to swap with me, please contact me.

Neon fun so nice we did it twice!

So I took another dip in my genius file...you know the one where I keep all my inspirtion pics! Anywho, I found a great great look that is totally fun for summer by b_jessica_3 on IG linked here.
Her's is slightly different, I chose neon Pink China Glaze Pool Party, and moved some of the fingers around...because I was dotting so fast and accidently moved on to my ring finger. I used Nicole by OPI Daffy Dill for the leaves, China Glaze Liquid Leather for the black details and OPI Alpine Snow for my base white.

This picture below is actually the first I took. I took it prior to topcoat...just in case of smearing!

I kept it for you because the two look nice...but different. The neon Pool Party is pretty matte-licious without topper.

This last photo...tada is my girl Nikkinailenvy from Instagram linked here. We decided to Twinsie this post for our Instagram accounts...and come on, this look is so nice why not see it again and again and again!

I'm wearing these as I write this and can't wait to do them again in another colour pallet. I for sure don't do enough skitlettes!

Nail Challenge 2013: Day 7, B&W

I'm going to admit it right up front...I'm cheating with these ones. These are from the vault! I know I said only new nails for the challenge, but as soon as I saw Black & White for today I couldn't help myself.

These are my favorite manicure I've done in the last year! I kept seeing framed nails and finally tried it. I used China Glaze White on White for the base, then stamped with China Glaze Liquid Leather and Bundle Monster plate BM-321. I topped the stamping with China Glaze Fairy Dust, then with a paintbrush I outlined the nails! After that I spent almost an hour trying to clean the black out of my surrounding skin. What a mess! My own fault for going way too close to the edges.

Sorry I only have the one picture, I had to leave for a party right after all that clean up. I think these are my faves because there is something so fun and edgy about Black & White together. Tune in tomorrow for a 'brand new' metallic themed set. Cheers.
