3 Shades of Purple Dotting

This is for the Crumpets 3 shades of purple and dotting prompt! My base is my new favourite purple, Essence Dark Night Starlight in two coats. I then mixed up two complimentary shade and dotted in a random pattern. Afterward... Fairy Dust of course. Some manis just need a little magic!

Hope you guys like this quick look. I've been prepping to get myself a little ahead for the upcoming January challenge...because I'm insane! I think I have a problem resisting challenges.

Cheers all,

Red Hot, Red Dot. My Go To Nails!

So yup...these are my go to nails! When I have an event I'd like to look put together for, I reach for my small size dotting tool and go to town over a great base colour. I think I may have posted a full mani of this combo before, but voila. I wore these on one of our many holiday visits. Easy Peasy and cute. Especially over red. If I'm honest my toes have this combo very often. This is two coats of my red Franken holo I pull out once in a while, and the dots are acrylic paint.

Difficulty: Easy peasy
Time: 5 minutes, for real!

Red hot, or what? Hope you like this and dive in when you need a quick and easy idea for your events. It really does get many compliments.

Cheers all,

Freestyle Christmas Nails!

This one is the last prompt  in the Christmas challenge, and the prompt is Freestyle! For this one I always pick something I really wanted but haven't gotten to yet. This design was inspired by Kimiko7878 on Instagram. I used a base of OPI Ny Boyfriend Scales Walls for this one, and lots of acrylics and patience for this one.

Difficulty: Medium-Hard
Time: 38 Minutes

Below you will find the InLinkz for everyone's last prompt. Please check out everyone's work for the close of the challenge. It was really a fun group this year.

I love how this design came out. I was really proud of it and wore it to my sons Christmas Concert. I got you guys a macro of the hand finger. It was my favourite part of the design. I loved the hairy fingers.

Another Crazy combo prompt post, Christmas Nail Art!

This ones a doozie for the prompts Distressed, Grey and Presents! I've been adoring the freehand pattern manis I've been seeing lately so I did this. I figured presents are a pretty simple shape to create repeatedly. For my distressed background I used Essie Cashmere Bathrobe and a light grey acrylic, and distressed nails with acrylic paint was really easy. You can rub sections with your finger to get neat wear areas. After that, I used festive colours to create my presents.

Getting near the end of this challenge. Just want to say how much I enjoyed the group of participants this year. They have been very kind and supportive and oh so talented!

Cheers all,

Ugly Christmas Sweater Nail Art

What is up with this picture? Well, it was a bad light day here in Ontario when I did this one. All my pics were meh at best. I took this one while picking up my son from school...in the rain...and it turned out best! So you just get the one, but I'm pretty happy with the design. This design is a replica of my good friends ugly Christmas sweater...it's not ugly Stef! She bought it for a family photo, but hated the tomato red! So in honor of Stef's tomato red Christmas sweater and my nanna who used to make us this style, here we go.

The tomato red base is OPI Passion For Fashion, and the design was done in acrylic. If you love this look, the sweater is actually still available at Old Navy linked here.

I love holiday style sweaters, hope you guys enjoyed this look.

Color Show And The Strangest Polish Ever!

Lasting Lilac from Color Show, like five coats. That's right...five. I'm really a two coats with base and topper kinda girl, so normally this would be a no go for me. This polish was just so strange going on, I just had to see how it ended. Kinda matte, kinda thin and patchy, but pretty colour and flecks.  The patchiness finally resolved after the last coat. This has no topcoat as the waxy look was kind of cool in the end.

I'm glad I swatched it, but it did end up in my give it o girlfriends pile...cause nobody got time for five coats.

Cheers all,

Holiday Challenge Glitter Prompt, Yukon Cornelius Nails

"Silver and Gold, Silver and Gold, means so much more when I see. Silver and Gold decorations...on every Christmas tree!"

Today a little Yukon Cornelius fun for you. Yukon and his ice picks are done in acrylic over a base of Color Club Twiggie and a mix of green and yellow polishes sponged on top. The gold is Ruby White Tips Smaug's Gold, and an unnamed silver glitter topper. And what could be more 'glitter', then Silver and Gold. I'm super happy with how cute Yukon turned out, he's just so funny!

This is a design of my own, and not too hard for you guys to try out.
Difficulty: Medium
Time: 17 Minutes

Getting closer to the holiday folks, what are you planning to wear on your fingers for your festivities?

Cheers all,

Colors By Llarowe, Shimmering Waters Swatch

Swatch time! I posted the art I did on this one a while ago, but can't forget to post this beauty! This is Colors by Llarowe Shimmering Waters. I just straight up loved this one. It's so intense. It's two easy coats for coverage, and such a soft blue holo. It was gorgeous in every light!

If you can get your hands on one, I totally recommend it.

Cheers all,

December 15, Throwback, Holiday Decorations Nail Art

This is for the prompts Glitter Topper and Decorations. I recreated last years Decoration prompt mani and really like it still. The base is Don't Make a Scene from Finger Paints, and the details all acrylic. This is a rendition of those spinning fan decorations that use the heat from a candle. I grew up with one, but you can also see one in a scene from National Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

Difficulty: Easy
Time: 15 Minutes

So here is my original design linked here.
I'm pretty attached to the origional, and may even like it better. What do you think?

I Have an Announcement!

‎So guys, I am incredibly happy to announce I was just  invited to join the Digital Dozen linked here. For those of you that don't know, The Digital Dozen is a very popular nail art troupe that posts together for five days each month on some really fun themes. It's an eclectic group artists of different types. The group includes some very big names, and I am so so honored to be included. As a thank you, and to announce my news I created this look. It's an opened gift box and The Digital Dozen logo. Because I feel like I was given a great big Christmas present from the ladies.

I used Sally Hansen Greige Gardens for my base and created the 3D box and logo with acrylics.

Difficulty: Medium
Time: 30 Minutes

SO, wow right! I'm really excited and can't wait for this next adventure in my blogging to start in January!

You can also foolow the girls on Facebook linked here, and Instagram linked here.

Cheers all,

Different Dimension This is not Fir, Candy Cane Nail Art

These are for the prompt Red and Green, so I had to use this Different Dimensions This is not Fir. This is one coat over a matchy green coat of underpants! My canes were done in white and red acrylic, and I figured out that if you use a tiny dotter instead of a brush for the shape it's super easy to create these. Then a detail brush for the red and your done.

Difficulty: Easy
Time: 15 minutes

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

Cheers all,
