Merry Christmas! My Christmas Nails.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday's folks! I'm in and out on a whirlwind, three-day, house-hopping, holiday-celebrating, extravaganza. So much Christmas back and forth, but so worth it to see everyone we love over the season. This is going to be my holiday mani, so I'm hoping it holds up to all the rigors of cooking, tidying and unwrapping because there is no time for anything else! Oh, yes for those that noticed you get a gold star, my nubbins decided it was time to make an appearance after a series of breaks.

Anywho, for the art on this my white base is Sally Hansen White Out, and the red is called "Glitter" from Sally Beauty. I don't think they do these holiday releases anymore, so I save this one strictly for Christmas and sometimes Valentines. I stamped Go Crazy Red Bundle Monster Candy Cane Stripes on the thumbs and pointer fingers and dotted red acrylic on the ring fingers. For the red glitter fingers I didn't want to cover the polish, so I added only two white dots to each pinky.

I love how festive and cute this turned out!
Here's hoping you all have a happy, healthy and safe holiday season!

Cheers all,

Rudolph!

An un-posted cute look from last year, this is Rudolph on Ruby White Tips Kim. Two coats of Kim and the rest is acrylic. I wore these for Christmas day last year, but didn't post them for lack of time, so I thought why not save them.

Hope your holidays are shaping up to be fun and love filled!

Digital Dozen Traditions Day 5,

So this is it after my wild flu and job interview fueled week I finally have my last Traditions mani for Digital Dozen up!!!  I almost skipped it, but don't want to let the girls down and this mani's inspiration is really cute. So for the last two years my Mr. has randomly gifted me Christmas presents of the Roots Mittens linked here.

They do different ones each year, but the idea is they are fleece lined yarn knit and have something very Canadian as part of the design. These are straight up the warmest mitts of any kind if ever worn.  My base for this one is two coats of Sitting in a Tin Can from Pahlish.

That's it for Traditions week guys. Hope everyone enjoyed it! What's your favourite family tradition when it comes to the holidays?

Cheers all,

Digital Dozen Traditions Day 4, Pinkmas Holly

China Glaze Dance Baby was the base on this pink-mas look. I went for a holly/mistletoe look on these because we put one up in the doorway to our kitchen every year. What made me think of it this year is that twice my boys have gone under at least the same time and ended up giving each other a kiss! (Granted it ended up in a wrestling match...but still priceless!) For my dotticure and holly I used all acrlylic paint, and I was very smitten with this one once the matte coat dried.

Kisses everyone! Now today you were supposed to get my day five, but everything is muddled up due to the stomach bug since last night...all night! This one will have to tide you guys over, but five is done...I just need the energy to water mark/edit and write.....zzzzzzzz.....sorry nodded off! Lol.

Cheers all,

Digital Dozen Traditions Day 3, White Christmas

This one was supposed to go up yesterday, but life got in the way when I had a series of job interviews. Lucky you guys, as you'll now get two holiday Digital Dozen Traditions posts in one day. For this look I used a base of OPI Eurso Euro and sponged the tips with Nabi Sky. I then stamped and dotted various dots and snowflakes in an unnamed silver and Konad White. After that, matte and voila!
In case your wondering the traditional tie in, I live in Ontario Canada and only remember a handful of green Christmas days I my whole life. Unfortunately, this year will be one of them. So in honour of White Christmas and wishful thinking this is what I came up with.

I really liked this and may rewear it for Christmas Eve!

Cheers all,

Digital Dozen Traditions Day 2, Pinkmas Wrapping Paper

I love wrapping gifts and wrapping paper! Less so now that I have kids and it takes soooo much time, but I love hiding a gift to surprise someone in cute paper and bows. I also love how cute wrapping paper has become the last few years. So for Day 2 of Traditionas Week for The Digital Dozen I chose to create a cute wrapping paper look. I chose Bam from Indie Polish as my base because I've really been feeling the Pink-mas look this year. For no reason other than its cute, out of the box and what I wanted to wear. I used Konad White for the stripes and dotted with green and red acrylic paint.

I hope everyone likes the pink-ness because I have two more holiday looks coming up with a little pink about them!

Cheers all,

Digital Dozen Traditions Day 1, My Christmas Colours

This week I'm the Digital Dozen universe we are celebrating traditions. At this time of year for me traditions centre around the Christmas holidays and my eldest sons birthday. He's a December baby!

For day one I've chosen to give you a peek into our home. When I started my career years ago I used my first Christmas bonus to buy a big tree and full set of wine and gold decorations. I still maintain this colour palette and still have many of the decorations.

I included this next shot because my lil one likes to disappear into our front room to sit by the tree. This photo wasn't staged, it's exactly as I found him.

For my first mani I decided to create a look with my Christmas decor colours.
For the gold and wine stamping I used Essie Penny Talk and the wine colour is an unnamed Essie I picked up at the dollar store. The base is Orly Frosting.

Once matted, I wore this one to pieces and applied it prior to our tree decorating date night.

Pop Art Nail Art!

So this is a look from a while back. This is a Pop Art Style look I came up with for a Crumpets post that's come and gone. As you guys might have noticed, I've slowed down on posting as of late to focus on a few other things in my non-blogger life. Nothing serious, just job searching and working on my photography. For those of you that don't know I am a big fan of photography and have a second IG linked here. I feel like the slow down was good for me and got my creative juices flowing for the holiday season.

Anyway, this look started with a base of Sinful Colors Hazard topped with Deborah Lippman Dream a Little Dream of Me I then dotted in a full mani's worth of beige acrylic dots and stamped in Espresso from Revlon.

I feel like this quirky look is so me right now with the high contrast colours and mix and match patterns. I wore this forever!

Ruby White Tips Latex Review

So today I have a review up for you of the new Latex Barrier from Ruby White Tips shop linked here. This is my first indie latex barrier I've tried, as in the past I've only used latex extension glue from Sally Beauty which works in the same way. Extension glue is great and cheap...and also a gross poop brown. It also needs to be applied with an art sized brush which ruins the brush for future use for art. The RWT Latex is bubble gum purple and the lip gloss style applicator makes this way easier to use and much easier on the eyes!

As with all latex, you apply to the sides and cuticle area of the fingers and allow to dry. Once dry, you apply your art and just peel off. For my art I used Essie Penny Talk to stamp on This Is Not Black also from the RWT Winter Collection! As a tip,  latex dries incredibly fast and the colour will darken once it's dry.

For anyone who is into messy art like stamping, picking up a tube of latex really is the way to go. It saves you tons of time on your clean up, and it's kind of fun to peel off too. Once again, it's available for purchase at the RWT Etsy Shop linked here. As a heads up if you are reading this a couple week after the post went live, Ruby White Tips will be switching its shop over to the Amazon platform linked here.

Cheers all,
