Ruby White Tips Amanda with Grey Floral

What's this? Ruby White Tips Amanda again? Well, it is named after me...and is now available on Etsy linked here so why not! This lovely grey is two coats of Greige Gardens and topped with one coat of Amanda. On the floral fingers I used acrylics for the details.

After it was done it absolutely screamed for mattifying!! I was of course happy to oblige!

Don't some looks just have to be matte?

Art Exchange, Fall Nail Art

Normally I would call this a mani swap or perhaps a twinsie post, and it is, but it's also so much more. I recently discovered a new IG sketch artist called KreativaEmma with a very child like and sweet style. I approached her to create a one of a kind piece for me to recreate as a mani, and today I have the final looks for you. All my details were acrylic on a base of Paper Mache from Finger Paints. My initial green gradient was also created with acrylic, this is easy and I recommend it for creating base gradients.

Below is the design KreativaEmma  made for our collab. We discussed pumpkins and toadstools, but this is the lovely design she came up with. So sweet and so much detail.

Below is a look at the stages I took in my manicure for those starting in deetail work this might help.

I can't tell you how much fun this was, and hope to do this again very son.

Matte Brown Floral Nail Art

Not complicated at all today, this is China Glaze Ingrid with acrylic flowers and matte topcoat. Pretty and sweet look created easily with a large dotter and striping brush. I just got some longer stripes and wanted to practice with a simple look.

What does everyone want to see for my next Halloween look coming soon!

Cheers all,

Halloween Nail Art, Franken-Happy

Here it is, my second Halloween look, and my very first portrait...sort of! I've been scared of the precision needed for portraits but Frank here allowed for some leeway. I followed along with a Robin Moses video and used only grey, black and white acrylic for this. The base is Above the Curve Don't Blink in two coats. I'm happy with the final look, but my Frank is a little too happy!

So what do you think, spooky?

Floral and Zebra Nail Art, Above the Curve Glitter

This look was I nspired by dizzydes86 on Instagram. Hers is a different colour palette, but If you love the art make sure to check her page out. For base I used my gorgeous Sinful Colors Endless Blue in two coats topped with Above The Curve's Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey. I took a swat hero for you because it's just so pretty on it's own.

After that I added the zebra and orange roses in acrylic. Why orange? I don't know, seemed the thing to do at the time! I don't know about you, but I love the combo.

Let me know if I'm out to lunch, or this colour combo rocks.

Halloween Nail Art, Spooky Forest

It's that time again...(insert evil laugh here) Halloween is fast approaching! I wasn't going to jump on the Halloween bus till October 1, but then I saw this design on Instagram by b_sadlernailedit and it was so cute-spooky and looked easy enough and well I just had to do it myself! For the background I simply used a makeupe sponge to do the textured splodges on one coat of Liquid Leather from China Glaze. I then took black acrylic and added the trees. Once dry I used white acrylics and a dotting tool to add the eyes. This looks a lot more difficult than it was and anyone could try this one out.

Happy Halloween season all! Just let me know in the comments below if there is a certain Halloween design you want me to try this year!

Ruby White Tips Gradient Animal Print

This look is a stunner that was inspired by Kimiko7878 on Instagram. I used two coats of Ruby White Tips unnamed orange red holo and then sponged Ruby White Tips Smaug's Gold in the centre of each nail with a cosmetic sponge. Then with my smallest detail brush I created the animal print in black acrylic. I love the fall pallet for this animal print. It's so luscious and hot for right now.

Thanks for stopping by, what's your favorite fall look?

Strawberry Pop Art

So this look is kind of a recreation of another recent look I did. You might remember this mani linked here. I recently got a giant shout out from one of my favorite brands (Laquerlicious) because she loved the design. I felt inspired to recreate it again using Strawberry Cosmo from Laquerlicious. If you have followed me for awhile, you know that this polish was my very first Indie purchase. It doesn't come out often, because it's very special to me, but it has been sitting in my use soon tray so...voila!

This is two coats of Cosmo and the accents are two coats of Finger Paints Paper Mache the rest of the detail is acrylic.

Thanks for stopping by to visit this Laquerlicious show-stopper!

September Challenge Fall Nail Art

So this look is for the Delicate an Metallic Prompts for the September Challenges. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to catch up this year, so I'll just use the prompts for inspiration. This look was created with acrylic paint on a base of a soon to be released Ruby White Tips shade called She's a Sugarmamma. I found the inspiration from this look on Pinterest, but there was no reference to who created it. If anyone knows, please let me know in the comments.

When I swatched this colour, I did so over black and it was a beauty, but this was two coats on its own. I wanted it to be more delicate. This colour will soon be available over at Ruby White Tips on Etsy linked here. She's also about to release some knock-outs your going to want to check out.

September Challenge Violet and Nail Stamping

I've been in Jamaica on vacation for a week, and thought it might be a way to catch up instead of skipping prompts this year to just combine prompts till I catch up. So this mani is Violet...and Black and White! I stamped an interesting and fine line design with Konad black over Finger Paints Paper Mache. I then used a violet and white acrylic to add ribbons sporadically over the stamped design.

There you have it! I have to say I LOVE this final look.

Blue Floral Nail Design, September Challenge

This is my look for blue, and it will be my last for a week as I'm offline to focus on a week of family fun and events. But I'll be back with some more prompt looks soon. This look was created over two coats of OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls. The rest was done in acrylic. I've been working a lot in acrylic lately. I'm really liking how much more speedy and accurate the art can be, but I might dive back in with some polish only looks for you. This look was a recreation of one of my faves from wondrously polished. Hers is a matte dream, but I'll be honest...I totally forgot to matte mine!

See you guys soon!

Cheers all,

Green One Stroke Waves

This was a test really, but I wanted to do it in green for today's Green prompt for the September Challenges at #31dc2 and #31dc2014. Narmai recently posted a video tutorial on her Instagram page that inspired this look linked here. Hers were oriented up and down, with mine I tried side to side for a wave type look. These were created with green and teal acrylic paints on a white polish base. I thinks this could be striking with some art over top next time. I used a small flat brush to create this look. I mattified this one at the end, because it seemed like a matte type look.

I hope you find these interesting, I had fun playing around.

Cheers all,

Banana To a Party from Above The Curve, Yellow for September Challenges

These, I love! I'm really warming up to yellows and greens lately. It's not historically my thing, I mean I only own two yellows in my stash but I keep reaching for this Above The Curve don't I? Anyway, this is one coat over NYC Lexington Yellow as base. Then I used yellow gold and black acrylic to create these fading into fall flowers. In Ontario anyway, the leaves started to pop out some yellows and red this week. Sigh! This look is my Yellow prompt for the September Challenges at #31dc2 and #31dc2014. I was inspired by nailartbymae on Instagram...which now that I want to link her my browser can't find her...grrrrrr. I will update here with a link if I can find her. Her looks a stunner and was done in orange.

Hope you like my entry for Yellow in the September Challenges.

Orange Floral Mix for September Challenges!

Ok, so this was playtime. I haven't sat down with a blank canvas and played for a long time. I grabbed a handful of OPI and some caviar beads, and this look is where we ended up. I did these a while back, before I changed my watermark, but thought the September Challenges were a good reason to use them. Now, I I mixed some of the shades myself, but if you'd like the names let me know in the comments. These were all polish, no acrylic paint. These will be my entry for Orange in #31dc2 and #31dc2014.

Do you guys ever just practice like this?

Cheers all,
