Atristic Pumpkin Nail Art

So these are my official last Halloween nails for this year, it was a blast and I created way more looks then I set out to. I'm going to make a compilation post of all my work in the next couple days, so stay tuned. This look was meant to be more artsy looking then all my spooky posts. The base is two coats of KBShimmer Maybe Navy. I borrowed this one from a friend, and love it! My art is all acrylic this time. I love the art look contrasting on this gorgeous shimmery polish.

And don't worry, I have a swatch post of this baby coming up too.

Cheers all,

Frankenhand, Halloween Nail Art

I wanted to do Frankenstein's Bride's nails, and figured for sure she would wear earth tones! Haha! This is two coats of Finger Paints Silkscreen Green with brown, black and gold abstract stripes added with a fine liner brush. For my hand I used a green face paint base and dark brown Sephora Eyeshadow for all the dirty smudged areas. I then used acrylic paint for all the scars and then buffed them with more eyeshadow.

Difficulty: Easy Peasy
Time: 19 minutes full hand and nails

This was very difficult to photograph, and I think its because of all the green. After balancing didn't work, the direct window light shots were the best. The skin is much greener in person. Still super cool though.

Getting close, what will you be wearing for your costumes and manis this year?

Candy Corn Nail Art, Bundle Monster Plates

If you follow my Instagram, you will remember I was working on something with this Candy Corn Gradient. In case your wondering, this is another acrylic gradient over a white base. I just top coat and then wash the rest off my hands...sooo much easier! Once it was dry, I got to work on dome creepy Bundle Monster stamping.

Bundle Monster has some fantastic holiday image plates and I used a couple of these to create this look and the look I wore on my other hand as well. I mixed and matched. The zombie hands are my fave, and look great over almost anything halloweenie...not a word...I know!

My Seche smeared it a little bit, but it wasn't super visible in person...kind of adds to the look in this case too.

Dem Bones Nail Art

Something spooky and wild for you guys today. I decided I wanted to create a full hand piece, and I actually have couple more of these planned for after Halloween because it was so much fun! I googled some images and found a crazy tattoo that was all the bones right on the hand. I pretty much replicated that image and carried it onto the nail where the bones would end. The base nude was a matted Finger Paints, but any nude would work. The image on the nails is acrylic and on the hands I used a combo of black eyeliner and acrylic paints.

It's not perfect, due to cracking when I moved and my fine hairs on my hand interfering, but like I said so much fun who cares! Halloween is coming to a close, what's everyone dressing up as?

Blood Drip Mani, KBShimmer Falling For Hue

This is my first ever blood drip mani. I had the idea to use KBShimmer Falling For Hue as a kind of blood spatter back drop for this. This is two coats. I then used a dotter and created the drips using China Glaze Go Crazy Red... I have to say, I think its pretty cool! I did both hands and am wearing this one all weekend!

Difficulty: Easy Peasy
Time: 10 minutes both hands!

Have a great weekend!

Eye See You Nail Art!

This luscious polish is Bloody Bride by Pretty Serious Polish. This is my first time trying out this brand, and I gotta say I love it! Probably one of the prettiest indie polishes I've tried. Anywho, the accent nail is Liquid Leather from China glaze with a gradient I created with acrylic, I'm really digging this method. I love the textured look, and the ease of clean up! Then I stamped the eyes from Bundle Monster's Halloween plates and filled over the stamping with a handful of neons.

I've for sure been neglecting the stamping lately. I think these turned out pretty fun! Those of you that follow my IG may have seen the fail that preceded this look. I tried to create a literal Bloody Bride, but alas...more mess than anything else so I quit.

Witch's Brew Nail Art

I just had the most fun coming up with these! The Base is Essie Cashmere Housecoat...aka new favorite grey. I then used all acrylic for the birch tree and cauldron design, but that fantastic witch's brew is China Glaze Celtic Sun layered over turquoise acrylic.I wanted that really slimer green colour, and I think I got it. All done, and matte! This one is all grey and a pop of colour as inspired by the Crumpets prompts for this week.

I forgot to time for you guys, but this was simple and fast...about 25 minutes...ish!

The idea behind these was a witch's brew being boiled up late night in the woods! Tell me what you think.

Halloween Nail Art, Spider Nail Design

I had a lot of fun with this! The spider look I saw on Pink Flying Cow's Youtube channel linked here. The web's I learned from Robin Moses. I used China Glaze Orange Knockout and the purple awesome sauce glitter is... All in all, this one was pretty easy to create. I used acrylic's for the detail.

Difficulty: Medium
Time: 24 minutes, a bit longer than I would have thought. Maybe I had the coffee shakes today!

Let me know what you think, and any last minute Halloween looks I should tackle before the big night. I still need to decide what to wear on the day!

Blue and Pink, Nail Stamping

This fab blue shimmery polish was a bogo I grabbed over the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend at Sally called China Glaze Frostbite. It's frosty lusciousness if I do say so, and I don't always love frost finishes! I thought it's the perfect blue going into winter. Afterwards I used Konad white to stamp the scattered fishnet look, and used pink and black acrylics for the pink flowers.

I created this look to compliment this new fuzzy pink sweater I just got from H&M. It's soft loose and off the shoulder...perfect over tights, and cute with these adorable nails!

So thanks all that follow, and if you aren't follow this link to check me out! To celebrate, and to jump in for this weeks Crumpets prompts I did these 60's groovy nails. The prompt was text and 60's, and I think this will do it! this look was created on a white base with all acrylic. I've been scared of text for so long, this is actually my first time trying.

Happy Dance!

The Bunny Is Back, Halloween Nail Art

What's this...our bunny friend is back and all set for Halloween night! In fact, it kind of looks like he's been trick or treating for a while based on that cart full of treats! My base gradient is H&M Ocean Dive, OPI Shop Till Sunset and Finger Paints Silkscreen Green. The details of all our little friends were made with acrylics. This fab look was another collab with my new IG friend @kreativaemma. If you haven't already, please check out her page.

Thanks for stopping by for yet another Halloween look...(sick of them yet?).

Black Cat Nail Art, Laser Kitties!!!

I was catching up on some new Robin Moses uploads on YouTube and saw these kitties! Perfect coming into Halloween. Can you tell I have the spirit this year? Anyway, base is Flying Dragon from China Glaze and the orange is Orange Knockout also China glaze. Then I used a Color Club shimmer over the orange. Still not happy, I took acrylic and added the horizontal stripes...laser kitties nail art was born! (Or so I called this one in my head.) Kitties were also done in acrylic if anyone is keeping track. Check out Robin's look which is different, but awesome...and all her Halloween uploads while your at it!

Difficulty: Easy
Time: 15 minutes

I love the kitties...and isn't Flying Dragon just the absolute coolest polish...ever?

Pumpkin Nail Art

So I saw these pretty mums at the grocery store a couple days ago and wanted to incorporate them into a mani. I decided to create a pumpkin patch look by mixing the mums in with some pumpkins and vines. I really liked the outcome and it totally meets two of this weeks Crumpets prompts with 60's and matte. These are definately 60's colours that I remember hanging around some homes well into the 80's when I was very young.

I used two coats of OPI City Shopper as my base. I then added green acrylic with a sponge and then defined a ring of leaves. Then I added the mums, and lastly the pumpkins and vines.

Difficulty: Easy-Medium
Time: 20 minutes

I hope you like these. I'm actually nursing a serious to the quick break starting with this mani, but I may have come up with a new way to fix a break. More info on that to come, but don't be surprised when my length comes down drastically.

Grimm Fairy Tales Series, Red Riding Hood Nail Art

So this is the start of a new series, and also suits the Halloween time of the year. I was google searching the Brothers Grimm for inspiration and came up with this fabulous image on a site talking about the body of work created by the Brothers Grimm. This body of work is extenive, and I'm sure you've all heard many of these stories without even knowing. This of course is Red Riding Hood and the wolf! Anyway, this image wasn't credited, so I'm not going to post it but if anyone knows the artist please let me know. My base is OPI Stranger Tides and the rest acrylic.

Difficulty: Super Duper
Time: 1:20

I'm in love with the final look and am happy to hear ideas for next weeks Grimm look. What's your favorite story?

Please come back next week to see what I end up with!

Lil Dracula Nail Art, Different Dimension Orion Nebula

This one is super cute! I've been wanting to do a creepy Dracula mani, but ended up going with a clip art cute style flying Drac I found online. I love vampire lore, books and movies, so this was super fun to do. The Different Dimension polish is one coat of Orion Nebula carefully placed over a black base. I was hoping this polish added a kind of mystical or star like look. My art was all acrylic.

Difficulty: Medium
Time: 25 Minutes

With the season change I'm having to relearn the sweet spot of light box placement in my kitchen. Anyone else having this issue? Really need to invest in a permanent lit box...someday! Blogger problems right!

Jack-o-lantern Nail Art

The Gradient I created with Wet n Wild Black Magic from the Fastasy Makers collection last year. The one with the tombstone lid...so cute. Anywho, two coats of this black jelly with a copper micro glitter sponged with OPI Shop Til Sunset and NYC Lexington Yellow. I then stamped with Konad White and my favorite image from Bundle Monster to create the rich patterned background. My husband loved the background as is and said it reminded him of a mocha latte or something. The Jack-o-lanterns were added in acrylic and then I matted allllll! Today's inspiration were from this weeks Crumpets Nail Tart prompt of a 3 colour gradient as well as Bundle Monsters month long Halloween Nail Art Contest for the Jack's.

l hope you enjoy today's look! I'm having a lot of fun with my Halloween nail art this year.
