Digital Dozen Does Birthday's...Literally!

So today's Digital Dozen Does Birthday's post is a special one. It's a sneaky surprise too! We told
Amber from Nails Like Lace - http://www.nailslikelace.com that we were planning a regular old birthday post and even chose an image. The reality is we are sharing in the excitement of Amber's new baby girl, and all created baby girl inspired images! Congratulations Amber and SURPRISE!

Today's looks inspiration was the nursery. I loved decorating our boys nursery, and this was my chance to design for a little girl! I always thought if I had a girl I wanted to to pink and chevron's in the room. I've also always pictured butterflies as an accent.

My boys nursery was beige and baby blue with white chair rail and airplane accents. My pink butterflies are stamped from BP-74 and I used an almost neon teal and black acrylic paints to add details.

I wanted to show you this as well, my new hobby. I got a Cricut machine and have been creating wall vinyl's, mugs and decals for all sorts of notebooks and items for myself and the kids. Anyway, the mug kind of matched my mani so I wanted to share.

St. Patrick's Day Nail Art

Today I felt like a combination of neon and St. Patrick's day! For my base I used China Glaze mmm, Lll by lll and lll by lll.  I then used images from Bundle Monster BM-lll for all my St. Patrick's images. (I'm out right now doing an activity with the kids, but will fill in the blanks shortly!)

If possible, this one was even brighter in person. If you head out tonight for the festivities, please enjoy responsibly!

Digital Dozen Does Art, Day 4

SO the idea for this one is a little obscure! Back when the Digital Dozen did Decades, I was fascinated by the hippie weird and unique floral fabric and wall paper patterns I came across from the 70's. I wanted to try again, and I even did one for one of my looks that month linked here. As I noted in my post, it's not that they are 'pretty'(...I may have used the word tacky), it's more that if you see a pattern from the 70's you know what you are looking at!

I chose to combine elements from two brown wallpaper images I found in a google search, and this is what I came up with! My base is a Sally Hansen Magnetic called Kinetic Copper, and the rest is a mix of dotting, freehand and stamping images.

I had a little trouble with smearing after my matte coat, but this turned out exactly how it was in my mind...and got removed immediately! I'm glad I came back to this style, it was fun.

Digital Dozen Does Art, Day 3

When trying to plan out my week for Digital Dozen Does Art I ended up on IG looking at at all the great doodle artists I follow  @rootje23, one of my favourites, and she does lots of feather work. They are a little more complex then my look here, but I tried! The big Feather is freehand acrylic paints and the pinky feathers are stamping. My Mrs. P's Nail Potions is called Peacocky.

I really liked this, although I wish I could have done something a little more like the IG doodles!
Don't forget to check out my girls looks below. This week has been pretty full of complex freehand manicures.

Digital Dozen Does Art, Day 2.

So as soon as I knew we were doing art week I planned this manicure. I used to study art for fun and one of my favourite artists was Kandinsky, as you can see by the book in my photo. I used a Moyou Artist Collection image for this stamping, which actually is a recreation of a Kandinsky painting. I used a bunch of Color Club neon polishes to create decals on my silicone mat, and the glitter topper is from Ruby White Tips.

This was definitely a fun one for me and I spent awhile just cruising through my art books beforehand as well. I should also try decals on my mat more, but I always get intimidated by the idea of applying them. All that work to then maybe wreck them.

Don't forget to see what masterpieces my girls have created today!

Digital Dozen Does Art Day 1

To start off Digital Dozen Art week I've created this cute freehand mix and match look. I wanted to do a floral and found this great painting online. Unfortunately I couldn't find any information for the artist. I created my version in a red, black and grey pallet. My floral and dots are all acrylic paints and  that great red micro is L.A Colors Electrified.

I definitely struggled with some of the fine lines on this one. I think more floral practice is in order! Don't forget to check out my Digital Dozen lovelies below!

Neon Roses Nail Art

I created this look over the weekend because I've been aching for some more neon. Winter is dragging, and neons always feel like summer. This look was one I saved to recreate ages ago from @deanne29 on Instagram. I was going to link the account, but it appears she's stopped posting.

My bases and flowers were an unnamed Neon Green from Color Club and Choco-Latte from Sally Hansen. The black details are all acrylic paint.

I straight up loved everything about this, and I'm totally doing it again soon!

Red Zebra Nail Art!

Just going through my un-posted drafts in the blog folders on this relaxing Sunday afternoon and found this cute glittering animal print that I never posted...for some unknown reason. I'm loving the combo of Essie Penny Talk on whatever raspberry micro glitter that is. I could find it and the Bundle Monster plate number, but I'm too snuggled up right now listening to music in my flannel sheets.

If you insist on knowing, shoot me a comment below. Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend!

Born Pretty Plate BP-L007 and BP-L050 Review

Today's look was created with more plates I was sent for review from Born Pretty Store linked here.
The plates are  BP-L050 linked here and BP-L007 linked here.
I decided to combine images from both plates and create a two handed mix and match look. My bases are Barrielle Swizzle Stix and Essie Full Steam Ahead.

I used many of the images from the two plates and had no trouble with any. The etching was good and the image selection was great. I created this to showcase many of the images at once, but very much liked the final look.

Born Pretty Plate BPL-027 Review

Today's look was created with plates I was sent for review from Born Pretty Store linked here.
The plate is BPL-027 linked here. I've been loving all my Essie Penny Talk stamping lately, so I needed to try it out over this gorgeous Nailinc pink Mayfair Lane.

The plate stamped very well, and I loved the stacked version on the final two fingers. I've already reused this plate for another image and I'll have this look up soon as well.

Born Pretty Plate BP-L050 Review

Today's look was created with plates I was sent for review from Born Pretty Store linked here.
The plate is BP-L050 linked here.

This was my fave of the plates I was sent, and the swirls and patterns are going to get so much use in future. I used a neon green and Frosting from Orly to create the gradient before adding the dark green stamping. I loved this in person, wore it for almost a week. As usual, this plate worked really well and was perfectly etched.
