Freehand Friday, Snakeskin Pattern
It's Freehand Friday again all! These are a snakeskin pattern I got off of a new purse I picked up on my trip. Ashley and I of Above The Polish tried to recreate the pattern of this purse for your viewing pleasures!!!
I used Finger Paints Don't Make A Scene as my base and then I decided to sponge on a little bronze acrylic and China Glaze Ingrid to try and duplicate the background colours. I then used my itty bitty brush and mixed the bronze and some black to get the colour I used for the scale pattern.
The background came out way too gold toned which I didn't realize from the photo I was using. Then I grabbed the purse to take this picture...akkkk! Fail I guess on accuracy! I do like the pattern and rough snakeskin effect I created though.
Thanks for stopping by for Freehand Friday this week. Feel free to follow by email, Google+ or Friend Connect along the right hand side here to receive my regular posts as well as Freehand Fridays.
I'm about to start a Christmas/Holiday inspired series with a blog group I'm part of, so stay tuned. I'm very excited with the looks I've been working on. By far my best freehand work yet! Christmas magic I guess!
Cheers all,

Weekend Away Manicure!
This was a quick one I whipped up for my get away this past weekend with the hubs. We headed to Niagara Falls and had a great weekend getaway without the little ones.
This is two coats of Sinful Colors Hazard with Konad Special White stamped over top.
This was the view from our room of both the American and Canadian falls taken from the Canadian side.
These were a great wear and matched most of my clothes options for the weekend.
Quiet coffee cheers all,

Picture Polish Paradise
Another first for me and the blog! My first Picture Polish Swatch. This is Paradise by Picture Polish. I've never worn one before, but have always lusted after them and Paradise in particular.
This
is a dusty teal metallic polish with pinkish micro hexes in it. After
topcoat I used a black striper to add the diagonal lines and my dotting
tool for a smattering of dots. Simple today, and wearable.
This one showed a bit of brushstrokes, but how it looks outside made up for it! It's so pretty in the sun!

Freehand Friday, Green Tribal
This week was Ashley's to choose the inspiration for Freehand Fridays. She chose a cell phone case she has just ordered online.
This
is my first attempt at a full tribal manicure. They have always
intimidated me, so I'm proud of myself for how these turned out.
I
didn't have the right shade of turquoise, but I chose
this lime green pastel instead. This is a Sally Girl mini unnamed green, then I went in with my
Orly Nail Art Striper in Black for lines.
These weren't simple, but didn't take as long as last week. I'm starting to get fairly comfy with my new brush.
I have a cute design from a pastel pink sweater from my wardrobe on tap for next week. Don't forget to head over to Above the Polish to check out the fantabulous Ashley and her magic! I'm posting this a little early cause Mommy's getting away for the weekend!! So I haven't even seen what Ashley's version looks like!!
Cheers all.

Thermal Addict!
So I have a confession to make...I've just begun an affair...with
thermal polish! I borrowed this from a friend to try out thermals for
the first time. I can't say enough how much I personally am fascinated
by this trend now that I've tried it! This polish is Twenty Seven Polish Change is Good.
Application was slightly tricky, but this is an older bottle. After the second coat of this jellied wonder, everything evened out. The subtle pink sparkle is mesmerizing on both the pink and purple transitional colours. The plate I used for the stamping accent nail was Pueen 37 with Konad Special White.

You do mine, I'll do yours!
These were an unplanned for digital nail date! Me and my good friend @imjteets on Instagram were talking and decided to challenge each other to recreate one of our favorite manicures.
Here is Jeni's version from Instagram.
Here is a list of the colours I used:
Pink - Sinful Colours, Cream Pink
White - Sally Hansen, White On
Blue - Sally Hansen, Blue Me Away
Green - Nicole by OPI, Daffy Dill
And here is my version. I used a dotting tool for the dots and the bottle brushes for the angled lines.
I forgot how much I love and my camera hates this pink! Look at the wakidoo stuff the pink fingers are doing!! Oh well, I still HAD to show you guys, too cute to miss them!
These were fun and happy and a nice pick me up after the weather we've been having!
Cheers all!

Freehand Friday, Monster Jams Nail Art
My next installment of Freehand Fridays was inspired by my son's footed jammies. Here is a picture of the fabric.
He just outgrew these, and I'm sad to see them go. He's almost out of footed jammies, so I'm getting sentimental! I
did these with a mix of acrylic paints and polish, so just ask if you
have specific colour questions. The base is Sally Hansen Diamond Strength in Tender Teal.
This last was taken in sunlight, although not much as it was nearing sunset.
These took a long time because of all the fine details, but it was worth it, and that's what this series is all about. Please check out Ashley's design over at Above The Polish. Funny enough her son had the same jammies! It was nail art kismet!
Cheers all,
Shipwreck Chevrons
So I've been wanting to try a craft cut polish manicure for a while and I finally got around to it.
This
base is KB Shimmer in Shipwreck over undies of Nicole by OPI Khloe Had a
Lam Lam. These two seemed made for each other by the way! The accent
nail was Sally Hansen Greige Gardens with craft cut chevron strips in
Shipwreck and Black Cat Lacquer I want Candy.
I
should have done two strips in Shipwreck. I found after that I want
Candy didn't show as well on my grey. Oh well, lessons learned. Still
pretty awesome looking.

Different Dimensions Sparkles like Edward and Snowflakes!
Spoiler alert: this polish is amazing!
I was digging into a few more of my loaners, and came across this bottle of Different Dimensions Sparkles Like Edward. Excuse all the random lighting in these shots, but this beauty of a polish is extremely camera shy! However I pushed on for you because...this is my new favorite ever polish!!!
It's just so pretty!
We are supposed to get our first big snow storm tonight, so I needed snowflake nails! I chose this polish because it looks so frosty and soft in the bottle. I was not disappointed!
This last picture is the accent on my right hand. Hope you like my new fave here today.
